United Airlines was sued on March 15 in Illinois Circuit Court for Cook County in connection with the United Airlines Flight 1722 that almost crashed into the Pacific Ocean in 2022. The lawsuit, brought by BartlettChen LLC and Colson Hicks Eidson P.A., was filed on behalf of 11 members of a family who allege that they nearly died due to the negligent failure of the pilots to manage the airplane's vertical flightpath, airspeed and pitch attitude. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2024L002882, Maltz v. United Airlines Inc.
