New Suit - Consumer

General Motors (GM), airbag manufacturer ARC Automotive and Hyundai Motor, the South Korean carmaker, are facing a consumer class action in Georgia Northern District Court. The action, filed on Wednesday by Motley Rice LLC, alleges that vehicles manufactured and distributed by GM and Hyundai are equipped with defective ARC airbag inflators that can rupture and dispel metal debris and shrapnel during a crash. The suit is part of a string of similar cases accusing major carmakers of concealing the airbag defect and asserting that it has resulted in a diminution of value in the subject vehicles. The case is 1:22-cv-03809, Hudson-Battie v. Arc Automotive, Inc. et al.
