Who Got The Work

Yvonne K. Puig and Daphne Andritsos Calderon of Norton Rose Fulbright have stepped in to represent Vanderbilt University Medical Center in a pending lawsuit alleging breach of employment contract and settlement agreement. The suit was filed March 15 in Tennessee Middle District Court by Cornelius & Collins and Callahan & Binkley on behalf of an orthopedic surgeon who contends that he was improperly suspended under false pretenses in 2022 in connection with a patient's death, and reinstated per a settlement later that year. The plaintiff accuses the defendants of failing to investigate fraud and unethical behavior by colleagues seeking to discredit him in retaliation for refusing to use a favored manufacturer's medical devices. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw Jr., is 3:24-cv-00310, Hoedt v. Vanderbilt University et al.
