Kirkland & Ellis partners Stefan Atkinson and Byron Pacheco have stepped in to defend New Excelerate and Summit Partners in a pending securities lawsuit. The suit, filed Jan. 25 in New York Southern District Court by Abraham, Fruchter & Twersky on behalf of Steven Goldstein, accuses the defendants of engaging in 'short-swing' insider trading and seeks disgorgement of their profits. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, is 1:24-cv-00535, Goldstein v. Summit Partners, L.P. et al. were slapped with a securities lawsuit on Jan. 25 in New York Southern District Court. The court action, brought Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
