First Lawsuit Against Alaska Airlines Filed Over Door Plug B...

The first lawsuit against Alaska Airlines over a Jan. 5 flight in which a door plug blew out, leaving a gaping hole in the aircraft, was filed on Tuesday. A class action was brought against Boeing last week, but the new suit was filed by Mark Lindquist Law on behalf of four passengers of Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the blowout, and the FAA temporarily grounded affected Boeing 737-9 Max aircraft. 'There will be a lot of lawsuits,' said Justin Green of New York’s Kreindler & Kreindler, co-lead counsel in litigation over the 2019 crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, which led to the grounding of all Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. Alaska Airlines, meanwhile, has canceled hundreds of flights and begun inspecting its own fleet of Boeing aircraft.
