Every Client Got Every Penny: Tom Girardi Takes the Stand in...

In a stunning twist, Tom Girardi took the stand Thursday in his own criminal trial in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom. Girardi, 85, spoke clearly and articulately but often repeated himself, telling jurors, "I've never taken a salary" and, to his own lawyer, that he was "not ready for cross." At times, Girardi appeared to meander off-topic or confuse the specifics of a case. However, when asked about Christopher Kamon, he told jurors that the former head of accounting at Girardi Keese "stole a lot of money" from the Los Angeles-based firm Girardi, which had been founded more than 40 years ago.
