New Suit - Copyright

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and other social media platforms, was hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit on Wednesday in California Northern District Court. The suit was brought by Epidemic Sound, a music label and publishing company which provides royalty-free music to content creators in exchange for an upfront licensing fee. The complaint accuses Meta of allowing and encouraging its users to post videos containing music from Epidemic's catalogue without a license. The lawsuit was filed by Pryor Cashman and Singer Cashman. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:22-cv-04223, Epidemic Sound AB v. Meta Platforms Inc. f/k/a Facebook Inc.
