The Florida governor suspended the state attorney in Tampa on Thursday for the lawyer's alleged "incompetence and willful defiance of his duties," mainly in publicly voicing his intention not to prosecute cases involving gender-transition treatments for children and bathroom usage based on gender identity despite no criminal law on the books. As a result, Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed a replacement, Hillsborough County Judge Susan Lopez, to assume the duties while Tampa State Attorney Andrew Warren is on suspension.
