Komatsu Ltd., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Komatsu America Corp., has agreed to acquire battery manufacturer American Battery Solutions Inc. in a deal guided by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. The transaction, announced Nov. 20, is expected to close on Dec. 1, 2023. Financial terms were not disclosed. Tokyo-based Komatsu was advised by a Cleary Gottlieb team including partner Jim Langston. Counsel information for American Battery, which is based in Detroit, was not immediately available.
