Assurant Inc. has agreed to sell Preneed, a funeral insurance and final expense business, to CUNA Mutual Group for $1.3 billion. The transaction, announced Mar. 9, is expected to close in the end of 2021. Assurant was represented by a Debevoise & Plimpton team including partners Meir Katz, Thomas Kelly, Nicholas Potter, Sunil Savkar and Peter Schuur. CUNA was advised by Foley & Lardner.
