Baxter International has agreed to sell its Baxter's Kidney Care segment, to be named Vantive, to funds managed by global investment firm the Carlyle Group for $3.8 billion. The transaction, announced Aug. 13, is expected to close in late 2024. Deerfield, Illinois-based Baxter International was represented by Baker McKenzie and a Sullivan & Cromwell team that included corporate partners Matthew Goodman and Melissa Sawyer. Carlyle Group, which is based in Washington, was advised by Kirkland & Ellis. The team was led by corporate partners Armand Della Monica, Laura Steinke and Nils Remole.
