Advanced Micro Devices has agreed to acquire ZT Systems, an artificial intelligence-focused computer hardware products manufacturer and provider, for $4.9 billion in cash and stock. The transaction, announced Aug. 19, is expected to close in the first half of 2025. Santa Clara, California-based Advanced Micro was advised by a Latham & Watkins team led by Bay Area-based partners Tad Freese and Mark Bekheit. ZT Systems, which is based in Secaucus, New Jersey, was represented by a Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison team led by partners Chelsea Darnell and James Langston.
