Alchemee LLC, a skin care company formerly known as Proactiv, was hit with a consumer class action on March 7 in California Superior Court for Alameda County. The suit, brought by Wisner Baum LLP, alleges that the defendant's Proactiv acne-treatment products contain dangerous amounts of the carcinogenic compound benzene. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 24CV066886, Ramos et al. v. Alchemee LLC.
