New Suit - Consumer Class Action

Credit Union of Southern California was hit with a consumer class action on April 16 in California Superior Court for Orange County. The lawsuit, brought by Siri & Glimstad, centers on 'Return Deposit Item Fees' charged to customers when checks deposited into their accounts fail to clear. The suit claims that such fees are illegal 'junk fees' under California law and that they unfairly penalize customers for circumstances they can't reasonably avoid. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is Gray v. Credit Union of South California.
