The State of California sued Pomona Lodge, HJ Hospitality and other defendants on March 29 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The suit contends that due to a lack of adequate safety measures at the defendants' hotel, the property has become a hotbed for prostitution, drug use, human trafficking and homicide; the complaint seeks to recover nuisance abatement costs under California's Redlight Abatement Act and Drug Abatement Act. The suit was filed by Best Best & Krieger. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 24PSCV00990, People of the State of California v. Pomona Lodge LLC et al.
