New Suit - False Advertising Class Action

The University of Southern California was hit with a false advertising class action on May 4 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County in relation to its Master of Social Work program. The lawsuit, filed by Project on Predatory Student Lending and Altshuler Berzon LLP, contends that the university's in-person program is substantially different than the online program even though the tuition is the same. According to the complaint, the online program uses different course content and outsources the clinical placement program. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 23STCV09981, Luna v. University of Southern California.
