New Suit - Privacy

Docusign, which operates www.docusign.com, was hit with a digital privacy lawsuit on Jan. 30 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The court case, filed by Pacific Trial Attorneys on behalf of Miltita Casillas, contends that the defendant uses tracking software to capture the IP addresses of anonymous website visitors in violation of California law. The case is part of a wave of litigation alleging that the use of digital transmissions to identify web users amounts to an unlawful 'pen register.' Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 24STCV02336, Casillas v. Docusign, Inc.
