Surviving members of the band Sublime, including Eric Wilson and Floyd Bud Gaugh IV, and other plaintiffs filed a legal malpractice lawsuit on Jan. 26 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The suit, filed by Parker Shaffie, takes aim at King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano and other defendants for allegedly failing to disclose conflicts of interest from representing the band's former manager and merchandising company while also representing the band. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 24STCV02171, Sublime Merchandising v. King, Holmes, Paterno, & Soriano.
