ZipRecruiter, a job search company, was hit with a digital privacy lawsuit on Jan. 18 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The suit, brought by Tauler Smith on behalf of Elizabeth Haviland, is part of a wave of cases accusing companies of collecting and storing online chat communications in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 24STCV01350, Haviland v. Ziprecruiter, Inc.
