Conagra Brands was hit with a consumer protection lawsuit on Nov. 1 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County alleging violation of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. The lawsuit, filed by Cliffwood Law Firm on behalf of Clean Product Advocates, contends that the defendant's Be'f Burger, Celeste Pizza and Plant-Based Meatball products are contaminated with lead and cadmium. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 23STCV26933, Clean Product Advocates v. Conagra Company.
