Cooley filed an IP infringement and false advertising lawsuit on Friday in California Northern District Court on behalf of Automated Pet Care Products d/b/a Whisker. The suit accuses PurLife Brands d/b/a Smarty Pear of infringing the plaintiff's patent and trademark rights relating to its self-cleaning litter box, the 'Litter-Robot.' The complaint also accuses the defendant of making false claims about the efficacy of its products. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:22-cv-04261, Automated Pet Care Products LLC d/b/a Whisker v. PurLife Brands Inc. d/b/a Smarty Pear et al.
