Melvin J. Davis and Michael J. Valentine of Reminger have entered appearances for the Mayor of Buckeye Lake and certain police officers in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 12 in Ohio Southern District Court by Frost Brown Todd on behalf of AS Hotels and its owners, accuses the defendants of false arrest and a pattern of harassment, including issuing condemnation orders and impounding vehicles. The complaint further alleges specific targeting by the mayor in an attempt to close down the plaintiffs' motel. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge James L. Graham, is 2:23-cv-03371, AS Hotels, Inc. et al v. The Village of Buckeye Lake, Ohio et al.
