American Airlines Group and AAdvantage Loyalty IP Ltd. sued Red Ventures and The Point Guy, a travel website and blog, Tuesday in Texas Northern District Court over alleged abuses of American's 'AAdvantage' rewards program. The suit, brought by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Kelly Hart & Hallman and Yetter Coleman LLP, accuses The Point Guy of accessing AAdvantage members accounts through its mobile application in alleged violation of American’s terms and conditions. The suit further contends that The Point Guy's app displays American's trademarks and copyrights without permission or licensing. Lawyers have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 4:22-cv-00044, American Airlines, Inc. et al v. Red Ventures LLC.
