Tesla was hit with a consumer class action on Friday in California Northern District Court. The suit, filed by Bursor & Fisher, alleges that the autopilot system in Tesla vehicles contains a hazardous defect which causes the vehicle to suddenly and unintentionally brake. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:22-cv-04908, Toledo v. Tesla Inc.
