Nike has turned to Mann Tindel & Thompson as local counsel in a pending patent infringement lawsuit over smart shoe technology and fitness app integration. The complaint, which asserts nine patents associated with intelligent running shoe products, was filed June 10 in Texas Eastern District Court by Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton and Gillam & Smith on behalf of Adidas. The complaint targets Nike over its Run Club, Training Club and SNKRS mobile apps, which function in conjunction with Nike's Adapt, HyperAdapt, Mag and other shoe brands. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap, is 2:22-cv-00198, adidas AG et al v. Nike, Inc.
