The Borough of Carteret appealed a decision by the Public Employment Relations Commission that denied the Borough's petition to exclude lieutenants from the Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association, Local 67, a collective bargaining unit representing rank-and-file firefighters in the Borough's fire department.
Plaintiff, an international trade association that represented the three national consumer reporting agencies, filed suit to challenge an amendment to the New Jersey Fair Credit Reporting Act that allowed New Jersey consumers to request credit file disclosures in English, Spanish, and at least ten other languages.
Defendants moved to dismiss plaintiff's pro se action alleging note and mortgage holder negligently failed to provide him with options to avoid foreclosure, failed to disburse "tax payments" and violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
