Five national athletic organizations are asking for a fast-track decision in their federal court suit to block New Jersey’s sports-wagering law from taking effect.
The plaintiffs the National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Basketball Association, National Football League, National Hockey League and Major League Baseball claim the legislation, signed on Jan. 17, is “in clear and flagrant violation” of the federal Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA).
