A worker injured at a Jersey City high rise construction site when a eight-foot cement wall toppled over on him was paid $2.75 million April 13 in Slatina v. D. Construction Corp.
In January 2007, Dashi Slatina, then 29, was erecting the cinder block wall on the eighth floor of a condominium tower separating the residences from an adjoining parking deck. While he was cleaning up excess cement, a gust of wind caused the collapse, according to his lawyer, Gerald Clark of the Clark Law Firm in Belmar.
