A newly formed New Jersey Supreme Court committee is set to examine ethical issues regarding lawyers’ use of metadata.
Specifically, it plans to consider whether existing attorney ethics rules allow lawyers who receive electronic documents to mine them for metadata, according to a Dec. 11 judiciary press release announcing the Working Group on Ethical Issues Involving Metadata in Electronic Data.
