McCarter & English cannot recoup more than $400,000 in sales and use taxes that it paid to New Jersey because it missed the statute of limitations for seeking a refund, a Tax Court judge says.
The law firm, the state’s largest, sought the refund based on an exemption available to certified businesses located in one of New Jersey’s 32 urban enterprise zones.
