There are some interesting things about the global settlement struck this week over Biomet hip replacements that were highlighted in an interview with one of the lead attorneys in the litigation, Thomas R. Anapol of Anapol Schwartz in Philadelphia. The result of the settlement is a plan for several-hundred plaintiffs to receive a base award of $200,000 for each hip they have had replaced.
One: The settlement was struck super-fast.
