Two Middlesex County attorneys were honored by their peers at a joint Middlesex/Union/Somerset Bar Dinner meeting held on Jan. 22 at The Pines Manor in Edison. William Brigiani, left, a partner with Brigriani & Cohen in New Brunswick, received the 2014 Edward Schoifet Family Law Award, presented by the Family Law Section of the Middlesex County Bar Association. Manny Gerstein, right, a partner with Gerstein & Richman in Edison, received the Association’s 2014 David Pavlovsky “Service to the Bar” Award. The Schoifet Award, the highest honor presented by the Family Law Section, commemorates the legacy of Edward Schoifet, who passed away in 200, and was considered the dean of the Middlesex County Family Bar and was recognized as a role model for all family law practitioners.

Essex County Lawyers Chip in for Kids


The Essex County Bar Foundation’s Young Lawyers Section held its casino night fundraiser to benefit Wynona’s House on Nov. 14 at Ravello’s in East Hanover. With over 120 in attendance and almost 75 baskets prizes available, including an iPAD, a ski trip to Vermont and a round of golf for four at the prestigious Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster.
