Each year, the New Jersey Law Journal recognizes law departments that stand out in selected categories of achievement. We invite nominations by or on behalf of corporations with in-house legal presences in New Jersey, and winners are chosen by our editorial staff.

This year’s awards go to DSM North America (In-House Legal Work) for closing six major M&A multinational transactions in house; Bristol-Myers Squibb (Outside Counsel Management) for its Law Partners for Productivity program that has rationalized its use of law firms; Chubb Corporation (Corporate Compliance) for its elaborate and well-structured program that makes compliance the responsibility of all employees; Becton, Dickinson (Technology and Information Systems) for use of performance analytics to reduce outside legal spend and improve productivity; and Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (Pro Bono and Community Service Efforts) for its standing program that actively encourages attorneys and paralegals to volunteer their time.
