To the Editor:

As a person who holds great respect for both the law and the Fourth Estate, I take issue with the headline " Blogger Need Not Reveal Sources, Judge Says in Extending Shield Law" that appeared on the front page of the April 22 Law Journal. The headline is inaccurate and extremely misleading. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office never sought Renna’s sources. The sole purpose in issuing Renna a grand jury subpoena was to investigate allegations of illegal conduct. Specifically, we simply sought the names of the employees who purportedly took county generators in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. I would expect a reputable legal publication would both correct this error and choose words more carefully in the future.
