ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

The Disciplinary Review Board having filed with the Court its decision in DRB 12-248 and DRB 12-297, recommending on the records certified to the Board pursuant to Rule 1:20-4(f) (default by respondent) that CHRISTOPHER P. HUMMEL of FAIRVIEW, who was admitted to the bar of this State in 1982, and who has been temporarily suspended from the practice of law since January 20, 2011, be suspended from practice for a period of six months for his unethical conduct in DRB 12-297 and disbarred for his unethical conduct in DRB 12-243, and good cause appearing;

It is ORDERED that CHRISTOPHER P. HUMMEL show cause before this Court on February 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Supreme Court courtroom, Hughes Justice Complex, Trenton, why he should not be disbarred or otherwise disciplined; and it is further

ORDERED that the Director of the Office of Attorney Ethics, or the Director’s designee, present this matter to the Court; and it is further

ORDERED that respondent shall file an original and eight copies of his brief with the Clerk of the Court and serve two copies of the brief on the Office of Attorney Ethics on or before January 30, 2013, and the Office of Attorney Ethics shall serve and file a responding brief on or before February 19, 2013; and it is further

ORDERED that the temporary suspension of respondent, entered by Order of this Court filed January 20, 2011, shall continue pending the further Order of the Court; and it is further

ORDERED that respondent shall continue to be restrained and enjoined from practicing law during the period of his suspension, and that he shall continue to comply with Rule 1:20-20 dealing with suspended attorneys.
