This letter was sent on Nov. 9 to Chief Justice Stuart Rabner, the members of the New Jersey Supreme Court and Acting Administrative Director of the Courts Glenn Grant:

I am extremely dismayed with the cavalier manner in which our court system, including its litigants, court personnel, judiciary, and members of the bar, has been treated during this difficult crisis. This emergency was created by the worst weather calamity to have struck New Jersey in the last 100 years. Citizens of this state remain in total disarray resulting from destruction of their homes, communities and businesses. Yet, our judicial system has been unable to make the most basic decisions that are needed in a time of crisis. As a result, litigants and members of the bar were exposed to piecemeal and late notifications to the computerized (RAVE) system of court closings and other disruptions. Thus, members of the public were left to fend for themselves.
