The legal profession in New Jersey remains a bit battered from the recession, but is managing to hold on, the Law Journal‘s ninth annual Legal Almanac shows.

The number of firms with 20 or more attorneys remains stable at 115. And on the face of it, summer hiring at the largest firms, a pipeline to permanent jobs, stayed the same. Firms brought on 94 summer associates this year and last, though far from 147 in 2008.
