As one of his last official acts, Gov. Jon Corzine signed the Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act on Jan. 18, and it takes effect on July 1. Much remains to be done before then though, especially as it is possible that even the regulations won’t be in place by then.

The law dictates that regulations be enacted within 90 days following the law’s effective date, though the power exists to take preliminary measures to implement the provisions. As of press time, it did not appear that any action had been taken.
