New Jersey has agreed to a $900,000 settlement of a lawsuit claiming it failed to accommodate an employee's spinal injuries from a car accident.

Hafeezah Fitts, whose title was Family Service Specialist II in the Department of Child Protection and Permanency, sustained injuries in a crash on the way to work in May 2019, according to her suit. She was diagnosed with herniated and bulging discs in her neck, spinal stenosis, cervical nerve impingement, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, migraines and white spots in her brain, and was taken out of work, according to the action.
