NJSBA’s Young Lawyers Stay Vibrant With Networking, Public Service Events
Attorneys younger than 36 or in practice for less than 10 years have a unique opportunity to meet colleagues and enhance their professional development through the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). This fall, the YLD has stayed busy organizing networking mixers and volunteer service events around the state for young lawyers to feel engaged with the legal community. It’s never too late to get involved. The next YLD business meeting, on Nov. 20, will provide key updates and insights on the Division’s ongoing projects and initiatives. After the meeting, attendees can connect with colleagues at a networking reception to foster new relationships and exchange ideas over food and beverages.
For attorneys interested in pro bono service, the YLD invites volunteers to participate in a Wills for Heroes effort on Nov. 16. Volunteers will help prepare simple wills, powers of attorney and health care proxy documents for veterans, first responders, law enforcement officers and health care workers. The event will be at the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company. Volunteers should attend an online CLE training session on Nov. 15.
Here’s a look at other recent YLD events:

Sunset Soiree
The YLD kicked-off the season with Sunset Soirée on Sept. 23. at Charley's Ocean Grill in Long Branch. Against the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, YLD members joined with the NJSBA's Board of Trustees for meaningful conversations about life in the law, career paths and leadership in the Association.
Networking Fundraiser
On Oct. 18, the YLD gathered at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como for a networking fundraiser that combined the best of socializing, philanthropy and fall fun. The event featured a silent auction with a curated selection of unique items and experiences. Proceeds benefited Volunteer Lawyers For Justice's New Jersey Human Trafficking Survivors Legal Assistance Program.

Scenes From the NJSBA’s 2024 Mid-Year Meeting in Dublin
Thank you to the members, colleagues, speakers and sponsors who made the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2024 Mid-Year Meeting in Dublin one for the ages. The meeting is a singular event in the New Jersey legal community, with unique opportunities for professional development, networking and personal growth. Throughout the week, prominent Irish legal leaders from the Irish Supreme Court and Bar of Ireland attended social events and educational programming on issues of shared interest to American and Irish lawyers and barristers.
