The Clark Law Firm successfully secured a $5.3 million jury verdict for an ironworker injured on an access road to the construction site of a luxury high-rise condominium complex, 235 Grand, in Jersey City.

Donald Hoiland, 44, was working at the jobsite, located at 235 Grand Ave., on Nov. 2, 2017, when he stepped on a large chunk of concrete partially embedded in the dirt. Hoiland’s weight and momentum dislodged the material and caused it to roll out from under him. He lost his balance and twisted, feeling a sharp pain in his back. His legs gave out and he fell to his knees and then face-first onto the ground, where he remained until the ambulance arrived to transport him to the hospital.
