The New Jersey Supreme Court Disciplinary Review Board issued a two-year suspension to Joseph J. Ashton III as reciprocal discipline following a Pennsylvania Supreme Court order imposing the same term.

The Pennsylvania court found Ashton guilty of violating the equivalent of New Jersey Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a), gross neglect; RPC 1.3, lack of diligence, RPC 1.4(b), failure to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter and to comply with reasonable requests for information; RPC 1.4(c), failure to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions; RPC 1.16(d), upon termination of representation, failure to take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client’s interests; and RPC 3.2, failure to expedite litigation.
