On Oct. 8, 30 volunteers from Saiber of Florham Park teamed with Jersey Cares to help support the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in their effort to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey. The Saiber volunteers sorted and packed an assortment of food items at the FoodBank’s center in Hillside. The items were delivered to soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters throughout the state, according to the firm, which said 220 total boxes of food, drinks and supplies were packaged. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, a member of Feeding America, distributed enough food for more than 66 million nutritious meals last year, 22% of which was fresh produce, according to the firm. Jersey Cares is a nonprofit charitable organization which places volunteers with service projects and other events in New Jersey.
