Two lawyers are facing a fraud suit in a Trenton, New Jersey, federal court after more than $1 million went missing from mortgage closings involving the pair.

The money was delivered by the settling agent for the purpose of paying off existing mortgages on two properties being refinanced, but those mortgages were never paid off, the suit claims. Attorney David Fleischmann’s Brooklyn law firm received the money but he’s not saying what happened to it, according to the suit, which was filed Thursday.
