A New Jersey judge has ordered an attorney to pay a disgorgement of $1 million to a real estate developer he defrauded while working as his general counsel, as well as the maximum in punitive damages allowed under the law.

Judge Michael Blee of the Superior Court, sitting in Atlantic County, last week ordered the penalty against lawyer Alan Rosefielde, who was found to have improperly transferred ownership interests in some of developer Bruce Kaye’s businesses to himself while working for Kaye, as well as other misconduct related to the business including multiple sexual harassment complaints.
