In response to the signing of the landmark S-21/A-21, also known as the Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization Act, by Gov. Phil Murphy on Feb. 22, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal issued guidelines for law enforcement in dealing with a changed landscape.

In addition to the act, Murphy also signed a marijuana decriminalization bill outlining marijuana and cannabis use and possession penalties, and a clean-up measure clarifying penalties for cannabis users under 21 years old.
