An effort is underway to give New Jersey lawyers and their staff priority access to the COVID-19 vaccine, but state officials have been tight-lipped so far about whether that request will be granted.

The New Jersey State Bar Association is asking the state to give the legal profession priority access to the vaccine, and the Centers for Disease Control includes lawyers in a group of essential occupations it says should have access to the vaccine before the general public. But states don’t have to follow the CDC guidelines, and New Jersey has not said whether it will do so.
