A Passaic woman who sustained spinal injuries in a rear-end accident agreed to a $1 million settlement on Oct. 22 in her Essex County personal injury suit, Rafael v. Williams.
Yina Rafael was driving west on Raymond Boulevard at Mulberry Street in Newark on July 6, 2017, when she was struck from behind by a minivan driven by Trinette Williams and owned by SAS School Transportation. Williams claimed she could not stop in time when Rafael stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross, said Rafael’s counsel, James Vasquez of the Law Office of James Vasquez in Clifton.
