Brent Weisenberg has joined Lowenstein Sandler as senior counsel in the bankruptcy, financial reorganization and creditors’ rights department in Roseland. Weisenberg advises businesses and their stakeholders financial challenges and special situations such as the negotiation and implementation of complex commercial transactions, the acquisition and disposition of distressed assets, and the prosecution and defense of commercial litigation. He also adviseds official and unofficial committees in retail, real estate, construction, hospitality, telecommunications, manufacturing and technology, and has experience in the wind-down of private equity and hedge fund vehicles. He was previously selected by a court-appointed receiver to serve as general counsel to the Platinum Partners family of hedge funds, working with outside counsel and financial advisors, as well as with Platinum’s portfolio managers. “Having worked extensively with members of the Lowenstein team in the past, I am thrilled to now become a part of their sophisticated bankruptcy practice,” said Weisenberg, in a statement. Kenneth A. Florham Park Firm Welcomes New Associate Henry Marley

Sherman Wells Sylvester & Stamelman in Florham Park welcomed new associate Henry (Hank) Marley, a 2020 graduate of Cornell Law School, where he was general editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and also participated in the Securities and Exchange Commission Student Honors program. He joins the firm’s tax and trusts and estates group. Marley received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University. “We are pleased to be expanding our Tax and Trusts & Estates Group with new talent, and we look forward to having Hank as a part of our team,” said partner Andy Stamelman in a statement by the firm. With the addition of Marley, the firm’s tax and trusts and estates group grows to nine attorneys and eight paraprofessionals, with offices in Florham Park and New York City, according to the announcement.
