Lahoud , a partner with Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater and chair of its immigration law practice, was a panelist for “Immigration Amidst a Pandemic,” hosted by Emory University as part of its “Behind the Glass: Immigration Reflections” initiative, on Sept. 29.   “I am excited to be a part of this incredible mission and, as always, look forward to educating young adults interested in immigration law and immigration in general,” Lahoud said in a statement. The series  aims to facilitate informed, nonpartisan discussion on immigration politics, law, and current events; empower entities advocating for the world’s migrant populations; and share academic and professional opportunities for students interested in the immigration field, according to the announcement.   The virtual panel included attorneys, judges, law school professors and pro bono professionals, and addressed topics including: how the legal system and immigration defense have changed with recent political changes, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected this work.  Lahoud, who received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2009 and his B.A. from Lehigh University in 2006, handles  immigration law and deportation defense for individuals, families, and domestic and multinational businesses and corporations. As practice chair, he oversees a team of immigration attorneys, immigration review compliance experts, employer immigration auditors, and paralegals and legal assistants.
